29 Sep Can I See The Dentist During COVID-19?
At Smile Society General Dentistry, we understand that COVID-19 coronavirus is making things difficult for many families. You may not be sure if it’s safe to get the dental care you need in West Windsor, East Windsor, or Princeton Junction.
But we’re here to reassure you that Dr. Munira Sulaiman and Dr. Mandeep Singh are offering a full range of dental care for patients of all ages, and we’re taking every step we can to keep you safe. Read on to learn more about how we’ve improved our office and our procedures, or contact us now for a consultation.
Social Distancing & Patient Check-Ins At Our Office
All patients coming to our office must fill out a brief questionnaire about COVID-19 symptoms, potential contact with those who have had COVID-19, and their recent travel habits.
We have also removed some seating from our lobby to allow you to maintain distance with other patients, and have altered our scheduling somewhat to help reduce patient overlap.
When you come to our office for a consultation, you’ll also need to have your temperature taken using a no-contact thermometer, and you may be asked to reschedule if it’s significantly higher than normal.
Pre-procedural rinses are also required before any appointment at our office, as this helps kill COVID-19 and any other potentially infectious illnesses.
Air Purification & UVC Disinfection
We have invested in hospital-grade HVAC filters to help catch microbes in our heating and cooling systems. Not only that, but we have also invested in IQAir air purifiers in every operatory, which use advanced filtering technology to capture aerosolized particles and disinfect the air in our office.
In addition to the above levels of disinfection, Smile Society has also implemented the utilization of hypochlorous acid disinfection using a ULV (Ultra low volume) fogger. Hypochlorous acid is a natural product that is secreted from our own white blood cells when our bodies try to fight off an infection. It is on the EPA list of known products to kill COVID-19. The fogger helps distribute the hypochlorous acid into hard to reach areas.
We also are using UV lamps with UVC (ultraviolet-c) wavelengths to disinfect our office. This touchless method of disinfection helps eliminate a wide variety of infections particles, including the virus responsible for COVID-19.
Face Masks & PPE In Our Office
We are using additional PPE at our office. All front-office members are wearing face masks, and we have installed sneeze guards at our front desk for your protection. We ask that you please wear a mask or facial covering to your appointment.
Our dental team members are using N95 masks, face shields, extra barriers like gowns, head coverings, and shoe coverings, when necessary, and high-speed suction evacuator systems to prevent the spread of potentially-infectious particles. We may look a bit different, but we’ll provide the same great dental care at Smile Society General Dentistry!
Enhanced Disinfection & Sterilization Of Operatories & Common Areas
We have always followed all CDC, OSHA and ADA recommendations and requirements for disinfecting operatories, but we are redoubling our efforts to ensure the safest possible environment for patients.
Not only that, but we’re also disinfecting and sterilizing our common areas frequently, disinfecting surfaces like tables and chairs, counters, doorknobs, bathrooms, and more. This ensures you’ll enjoy a safe, clean environment when you arrive at Smile Society General Dentistry.
